My Approach to Helping
We all have periods of depression, anxiety, anger and conflict in our lives. These are normal aspects of life. It's when we return to these emotions over and over, without enough periods of feeling contentment, gratitude and love, that we need to strategize new ways of behaving. I provide a safe and supportive environment to question old patterns that keep you from moving forward with your goals. I am genuine and attuned to my clients, listening and guiding without judgement. Your own stories about yourself and your relationships can prevent you from seeing opportunities to grow. Together we'll explore new ways of thinking and behaving that lead to continued growth and positive changes in your feelings and in your relationships.
More Info About My Practice
In response to current measures to slow the spread of COVID 19 I am offering sessions via phone or video. Feelings are even more contagious than this virus, so making sure you have an outlet to work through feelings is essential in maintaining a healthy environment. Managing our responses to the feelings of others is also vital during this time of increased anxiety, depression and irritability. As your daily routines change, it's a great time to evaluate how to make these changes positive ones for you and your loved ones.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
I've never been one for small talk. I prefer to connect with others on a deeper level. Being a therapist is an honor because generally people open up and share their true feelings during their first hour with me. I love giving others my full attention and helping them uncover new ways to look at old problems.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
Trust is everything in therapy. The relationship between a client and therapist is the key to progress. I encourage you to call several therapists and get a feel for their styles over the phone. There's a vulnerability in opening up to a stranger, and the right therapist will help this process feel safe.
