My Approach to Helping
My approach to counseling is an integration of humanistic, interpersonal, and cognitive-behavioral approaches. My primary goal is to provide a safe, accepting, and supportive space for every client by focusing on a culturally sensitive and inclusive approach to counseling, which includes being an ally for our LGBTQ+ community. I find that focusing on the therapeutic relationship is essential for client change as it is a consistent predictor of positive therapy outcomes. As a certified Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) provider, I am also trained in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Additionally, I am experienced in mindfulness-based and self-compassion techniques, which I integrate into my therapeutic approach when appropriate.
In my free time, I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends, reading books, exploring new restaurants with my fiancé, and watching movies.
