My Approach to Helping

We are social, fluid and adaptive creatures. Because of this, much of the meaning and motivation we make from our lives comes from our relationships and our experiences, which we are constantly adapting to meet the needs of, both consciously and pre-consciously. Relationships have immense power, because while they are where so many of us have wounding, they can also be a powerful place for healing. I support individuals and intimate partners in processing developmental trauma and attachment wounds, which we hold in all levels of our experience--physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, etc. While some trauma may be more obvious, developmental trauma and wounding can show up differently--in our bodies, emotions, expectations for the world and others, and relationship to ourselves. This wounding can be hard to pinpoint, or may show up as a sort of anxiety. Whether or not we identify with trauma, we all have wounding. While I specialize in developmental trauma and attachment woundinghealing, I love working with anyone desirous of more freedom, vitality, and meaning, and those who want support in defining their own way of being in relationship and with their sexuality. I feel privileged to support those on their quest of personal growth, whatever that might look like!

More Info About My Practice

I support individuals and intimate relationships in navigating these waters of growth and change through interpersonal, relational, existential and somatic (body-centered) work. First and foremost, I hold the importance of the therapeutic relationship and container. When relevant, I incorporate somatic and mindfulness practices to support accessing deep parts of ourselves, where so much of our experience is held. I am also body and sex positive, kink, polyamory and LGBTQ+ affirming! I hold a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's in Mental Health Counseling from Lewis & Clark College. I worked with Philip Zimbardo on curriculum for promoting a Growth Mindset and principles of Everyday Heroism and Positive Psychology. I completed my internship at the Mindful Experiential Therapy Counseling Center (M.E.T.A.), where I received training in the Hakomi Method and body-centered awareness. I currently serve on the board of Existential Humanist NW, where I curate the blog.
