My Approach to Helping
Thank you for your interest in my practice. My counseling style is non-judgmental and practical. I'm gentle and engaged and respect your intelligence. There are times I believe it's important to quietly listen while you explore issues in depth. At other times, I think with you to help you grow and solve problems. I'll also encourage you to apply what you learn in your daily life. In general, I've found that the people who connect with me and persist to achieve good results are actively engaged in their healing process. Many like to read and learn and enjoy my teaching approach.
My theoretical orientation is integrative, combing different approaches, including.
1. Depth therapy including dreamwork, object relations, transpersonal, psychodynamic and Jungian
2). Biopsychosocial + spiritual
3. Brief therapy, including cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused therapy.
4. EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to heal mild to moderate PTSD and emotional trauma
5. Social learning theory
Although experienced with emergencies, my practice focuses on people who can reliably and safely cope with their needs, are not in crisis, who do not have thoughts of self-harm, and who want to make psychotherapy a priority so they can achieve results.
