My Approach to Helping
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 9 years of experience providing therapy to individuals, couples, and families. I have also worked with adolescents, teens, young adults, and geriatric population. I am a clinical therapist who have background working in high school settings, hospital settings and corrections. I have experience helping clients manage a wide spectrum of concerns including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, parenting, grief, premarital, marriage counseling and other life stressors.
My counseling style stems from a strength based approach and person-centered. I believe that one of the most important indicators of success in therapy is building a strong and trusting relationship with your therapist. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable and nonjudgmental space where you are able to speak freely and explore challenges you faced with, without feeling stigmatized. As a diverse therapist, I am able to use multiple approaches depending on your needs and often include: solution focused mindfulness, motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and psychoeducational.
It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: therapy is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from the patient and caretaker alike. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.
