My Approach to Helping
Do you want to increase your resilience? Are you tired of anxiety, depression, OCD, substance use, or the inability to cope with life transitions (newloss of job, new baby, divorce, co-parenting etc.) get in the way of experiencing a life worth living? You may feel stuck in a cycle with no way out. Our brain is pattern seeking and as we have all experienced patternshabits are hard to break. When we live in a constant state such as anxiety for example, we train ourselves to live in a constant cycle of worry. Let me help you identify, process, and learn specific skills to create healthier pattershabits.
I enjoy working with preteens, adults, couples, and families. I utilize DBT which helps improve areas such as mindfulness(living in the moment effectively), interpersonal relationships (manage conflict & improve relationships), emotion regulation (improve your ability to manage emotions), and distress tolerance (tolerate and survive crisis situations).
Life can be hard and sharing your experiences with a stranger can be difficult. I'm open minded and enjoy creating a comfortable environment. I would love to work towards gaining your trust and helping you strive for a life worth living. As a reminder I offer telehealth only. BCBS is pending although we can still get you set up as I will be in network soon.
More Info About My Practice
Unlatched Mind is a virtual private practice that offers counseling and life coach services. Our mission is to provide mental health and wellness services in the comfort of your own home without the hassle of driving to an office.
The amount of time counseling takes depends on various factors such as, but not limited to, the individual, issues, concerns, and severity. When a client has reached the termination stage of counseling some may find themselves not quit ready to transition out on their own. We have incorporated life coaching to help with that transition. Through our life coach services you can continue to make progress in your life and work toward attaining greater fulfillment. Keep in mind you do not need to participate in counseling to take part in life coach services.
Had a Negative Therapy Experience?
Reaching out to someone you never met and exposing your most vulnerable self is not easy, especially if you have had a negative experience. I pride myself on being an open minded person both in my personal life and my professional encounters. I do not judge, push a narrative, allow my own personal thoughts, beliefs, or morals influence your treatment and individuality. I strive for our virtual sessions to be welcoming, comfortable, and positive. I encourage my clients to speak up and let me know if I have done something in session that was disheartening so we can discuss and process. I also ask that a client share their negative experience(s) related to therapeutic services so I can be mindful of your past negative encounters and if you agree we can process that experience together.
