My Approach to Helping

I am passionate about working with people who have been undersupported, who care for others and the world, to also care for themselves. People describe me as a gentle careful listener who can hold complexity, who will also challenge you to grow while honoring what is right for you.
As a mind-body psychotherapist, working with me is about more than talking and thinking in circles, to create real change in how you feel, your clarity of mind, and recognizing your inner wisdom. I am particularly skilled at working with people dealing overwhelm, running thoughts - with skills to sort through bodily feelings of craziness, blocked emotions, and unusual symptoms and signals of stress, so you can feel more grounded and whole.
My clients are dealing with issues such as
-Chronic pain, tension, related to anxiety, or health anxiety
-History of loss, abandonment, neglect or feeling undersupported by parents
-Anxiety or depression
-Wanting to live more authentically
-Seeking to heal inherited family emotional patterns
I bring a background in somatic psychotherapy - a way of working with body and mind together to access your authentic feelings and restore physiological balance - that can involve mindfulness, paying attention body sensations, using touch movement or other nonverbal ways to access mind/body experience, with an understanding of how to relate that what's going on for you. I also bring knowledge of the mind/body connection from 18 years background as a Feldenkrais Somatic Education Practitioner working with people with chronic pain and trauma.
I want you to have a safe space, and to feel someone is with you in your journey. Going alone is hard. A safe therapy can be a "holding space" so you can find new ways of feeling secure with yourself. Much more is possible in life when you can build that trust and connection.
