My Approach to Helping
As humans our true nature is to move toward close and meaningful relationships in our lives. When obstacles prevent feelings of security and connection we often feel deep emotional pain, anxiety, and depression. This can be sensed in our mind and body. My focus is on helping individuals and families move through these obstacles with strength and compassion. In a warm and supportive environment, I use mindfulness-based therapy to invite you to explore the struggles you're confronting. Additional therapeutic modalities are often brought into treatment including cognitive behavioral therapy, insight oriented therapy, EMDR and other therapies, to help promote the healing process . At the heart of therapy is developing a feeling of safety and trust with the therapist so that you can explore difficult issues and old patterns, and be motivated to change. I look forward to bringing my 25 years of experience to guiding you on this journey.
