My Approach to Helping
Something feels off. Something has changed. Changes bring difficult feelings - emptiness, fear, sadness, anger, pain, or even nothing at all. You may ask yourself, “what’s wrong with me? Why is this so hard for me?” You may experience symptoms that are getting in the way of living life well. That’s where therapy can help you sort out the feelings underneath and bring you relief. I strive to provide a nonjudgmental, safe, and collaborative environment for you to explore yourself. By exploring the landscape within your mind, you can come to understand, with joy, your self and your story. I work from a psychodynamic perspective incorporating other approaches including CBT and mindfulness. I have experience working with older adults facing phase of life changes, including caregiving and facing the end of life, as well as with young adults shifting into independence. I am also a student in the two-year Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Course at the Florida Psychoanalytic Center.
