My Approach to Helping
As a counselor, I can work with you through the healing process and empowering you to make the necessary changes you seek. I feel honored to be with you in your therapeutic process. I will strive to create an environment where you feel safe to talk honestly about those things that are most important to you so you can find the inner strength to cope with life’s challenges, no matter your culture, background, or worldview.
I am an advocate of client-centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. I believe that clients are their own experts and possess the inner strength, creativity, and coping mechanisms to work through any issues they may have. I see my role as a change agent to assist and support you in tapping into those inner resources. I also feel that the physical, psychological, and emotional health of a person are all inter-connected and as a counselor, I must work with each to promote the total wellness of a client.
