My Approach to Helping
I work with individuals utilizing a systemic lens, taking into account familial, cultural, and societal influences that have shaped one's identity. I help clients identify and clarify their core values while exploring ways in which to live in greater alignment with these ideals. I encourage mindfulness, self-compassion and a gentle awareness of the messiness of being human. Self-compassion allows for a pause, a reflection, and an openness. Kindness towards oneself is often the seed from which new possibilities emerge, providing the energy to build healthier habits, relationships, and new ways of being.
I encourage a curious, compassionate inquiry into the present-moment experience of therapy. I believe that healing is enhanced by slowing down and becoming gently attuned to the "here and now." I help clients gain a deeper awareness of habitual emotional and somatic responses to stressors, and to become mindful in these moments. From this space of increased awareness, we can learn to live with greater intention and ease. It is an honor to walk alongside you, encouraging self-inquiry in service of your growth and healing.
