My Approach to Helping
As a therapist, my job and my goal are to help you achieve clarity, to heal, to uncover or rediscover your true self, or to find whatever answers you need to lead yourself in the direction you want to go. I will offer you unconditional respect and safety while providing you a trusting space in which you can be honest and open. Using a combination of therapeutic approaches, rooted mainly in Cognitive Behavioral and Systems Theories, and always dependent upon your current situation and your needs and goals, I will work with you to help you discover yourself, to make sense of your trauma experiences or losses, to gain the strength you have misplaced, to ease your day to day functioning, to increase your sense of well-being, to improve your relationships, to learn to manage impossible circumstances, and/or to modify unhelpful behaviors or negative beliefs that may be getting in the way of you experiencing more meaning and fulfillment. My work with clients is collaborative, as I recognize and value one's expertise on his/her own life. With me working as an ally, we will work together to explore your situation, in order to help you feel empowered to govern your own life in ways that lead you to the wholeness and well-being you seek.
