My Approach to Helping
Are you concerned about your individual, family, or marital health and well-being? Are you interested in exploring and working to improve these concerns? If so, read on.
My experience with marriage, couples, family, and individual therapy has led me to believe that healthy interpersonal relationships are delicate, nuanced, and ever-evolving with each stage of life. Attention to the impact of verbal and physical communication within a relationship is key to mutual care and deep connection. As an Air Force veteran, I personally understand the unique difficulties members and their families may encounter facing life's challenges within the military culture and its demands. I am able to confidentially guide military families and individuals through problems with forethought and understanding I work with individuals as well as couples and families.
I help people understand and improve their situation from a system, solution-focused, and strength-based perspective. With this heightened awareness, I empower clients to address depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, marriage and family concerns, and parenting challenges. I am trained and experienced in multicultural issues, including blended families where families from diverse cultures combine. In addition to my master's degree in counseling, I also have hands-on experience as a husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather. I have learned what it takes to make families work
I aim to assist clients in identifying current verbal and physical behaviors within the relationships and systems in which they live. Habitual and accepted patterns are hard to change when the consequences remain unseen or unchallenged. I am committed to providing a welcoming, empathic, and safe environment conducive to the actualization of client-set goals toward living a happier, healthier life. Contact me today.
