My Approach to Helping
Asking for help is both difficult and incredibly brave. On the one hand, we know we're in pain and want it to stop. On the other, we may have certain beliefs about what therapy is or who actually goes. Maybe you tell yourself that you "should" be able to handle your pain alone, that you're "weak" if you can't, or that only people with "real issues" need therapy. And yet, so often when people actually go to therapy, they feel calmer, clearer, more connected, and more fulfilled.
I specialize in helping adults with depression, anxiety, substance use, trauma, and grief. I am also a kink-affirming provider and particularly enjoy helping clients work through confusion, shame, and guilt, as well as supporting them as they navigate the complexities of dating, sex, and relationships. My approach to therapy is collaborative, empowering, and evidence-based. I provide a safe environment to help unburden you from painful feelings, difficult thoughts, and unhelpful patterns. Clients therefore gain new coping skills, discover healthier ways of thinking, and explore new ways of living their life.
My clients are wonderfully resilient and talented people. They are motivated for change and find they can benefit from professional help. If I sound like your kind of psychologist, give me a call so we can discuss your goals. You don't have to suffer in silence with unnecessary pain. I look forward to hearing from you.
