I believe the problems that you are experiencing or have been diagnosed with most often become a problem story, negative conclusion or label that can overpower your life and is rarely true or the whole story about you.

The "Problem stories" (a diagnosis, family labels, medicalized languages, social discourse) can attach themselves to your beliefs about yourself. These "Problem Stories" can attack you and hold down your true character, hopes, dreams, and life choices. Currently, they may have such an influence on your life that it convinces you it is your fault, you're too weak, you deserve it, or that maybe you were "born that way." I'm interested in re-authoring these stories with you. Exposing and supporting your strengths, abilities, knowledge, to stand up to "Problem Stories" and bring forward the truths about you as a whole person.

More Info About My Practice

Psychotherapy is not about me being an expert on you and how you should live your life, it is about being an expert on how problems affect and influence your life, hopes, and dreams. My belief and theoretical orientation is to work together to challenge false truths imposed on you and how these problems are getting you look the other way from your skills, strengths, goodness, power, self-agency, and desires.

My Guiding Ethical Principles

I am a therapist because I want you to have a safe place to be yourself without any judgment, to be heard and be believed. I treat everyone with dignity, respect, and curiosity. I want to collaborate with you to experience, discuss and view whatever you come to me with as a story line that can be re-written.

Finding a therapist that you like can be hard. I would be happy to meet with you free for 30 min to talk about your hopes for therapy and for us to see if we are a good fit.
