Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I provide individual therapy to adults, 18 and older. My areas of expertise include anxiety, relationship issues, self-esteem and self care, depression, mood issues, and concerns about emotion regulation, impulsivity and self-control. I also work with individuals who want to use psychotherapy to support ongoing personal and professional growth.

I help my clients expand their awareness of the workings of their inner lives and strengthen their intentionality to improve quality of life.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

Many approaches to psychotherapy are based on an understanding of the relationship between acceptance and change. Paradoxically, the more we can accept ourselves as we are now, the more profoundly we are able to change.

This is why acceptance is a fundamental aspect of the therapeutic alliance. You must feel understood and accepted by your therapist in order to do the work of psychotherapy. An essential part of our work is helping you to develop greater awareness and acceptance of yourself. This is the foundation that will enable you to grow and build on your strengths while also finding new ways to understand and solve your problems. It has to be okay to start where you are.
