My Approach to Helping
My approach to therapy has been influenced by a diverse array of radical mental health practitioners, organizers, and activists. I highly value personal identity, intersectionality, and human relationships as fundamental to my therapeutic work, and aim for my practice to be a destigmatizing and collaborative space. Namely, I integrate a harm reduction and strengths-based approach to mental health which presumes that all people are doing their best to survive.
Beyond my formal training in play therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Structural Family Therapy, my practice is widely informed by disability justice movements, radical peer support communities, and transformative justicecommunity accountability models. I am also passionate about using techniques drawn from somatic experiencing, polyvagal theory, and liberation health. In terms of mental health diagnoses, I am happy to center a traditional diagnostic framework as much or as little as you like, offering space for workshopping, critiquing, and rejecting diagnoses along the way. You are the expert on your own life and I will honor your needs throughout the therapeutic process.

I particularly love working with people living with disabilityTBI, medical and complex trauma, neurodiversity, and sexuality and gender identity formation. I am also passionate about supporting folks through non-monogamous relationships, racial identity development and internalized misogyny.
