My Approach to Helping
At some point in our lives, many of us find we are unable to cope with the pressures of daily life. Others may find themselves feeling stuck in unhealthy patterns, unable to reach their full potential or create meaningful relationships. Suddenly, ways to cope that were once helpful have become ineffective. As a therapist, my goal is to help individuals uncover and change these unhealthy patterns in order to live a meaningful and fulfilling life.
I work with adults who are struggling with feelings of fear, anxiety, depression and negative self-talk. I have experience helping individuals with substance use and mental health disorders, young adult issues, and challenges following life transitions. I utilize an eclectic mix of therapeutic interventions, tailored to fit each client's needs. These include, but are not limited to, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, and exposure and response prevention (ERP).
Change is difficult, and at times a little scary. Overcoming these fears, identifying goals, and taking action to change behaviors can lead to changes in thinking, feeling, and motivation, ultimately allowing you to lead the life you've envisioned for yourself.
