My Approach to Helping
I approach therapy as a journey, one in which an individual has allowed me the opportunity to accompany them as we explore their challenges and obstacles. Working together we can examine how such challenges and obstacles impact their well-being and explore options that provide them a more healthy way of being. Each individual has the power and the ability for a meaningful and healthy existence. Therapy provides them a unique opportunity to pursue this state of being in a safe, supportive environment.

I strive to provide services in a safe, calm environment. Utilizing empathy as well as drawing upon my past experiences with individuals we are able to examine issues and explore alternatives. The goal is to provide insight and understanding so that one can make choices that create a healthier and more meaningful life.

Psychotherapy is a process of discovery of self. It is a journey of self exploration, how one has given meaning to various aspects of their life and the impact such meaning has had. As a therapist I can provide reflection as well as examination of such meaning. Together the therapist and the individual can discuss the challenges and obstacles of meaning and explore alternatives. I do not assume to have the answers to life's challenges, no therapist does, but I can provide alternatives that may have been overlooked or not explored. Choosing the right therapist is important for such a journey, as it can be emotionally challenging. Utilizing respect, empathy, and drawing upon my past experience I can hopefully provide the environment where one can grow and learn and live a more fulfilling life.
