My Approach to Helping

I use evidence based practices mainly cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) in order to help my clients overcome life challenges, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, martial and family conflict. Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment for many mental and behavioral health issues. CBT looks at the relationship between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Thoughts (especially thinking errors and irrational thoughts) have the power to influence how we feel and behaviors we engage in as a result. Through the use of CBT model, I will help you identify and learn more about your irrational patterns of thinking, recognize them early on, and give you the tools to challenge them in order to improve your mood.

Additionally, I offer neurofeedback to individuals interested in this form of treatment. Neurofeedback, also called EEG Biofeedback, is a non-invasive technique used to help the brain self-regulate by witnessing its’ own EEG activity through a video display. By witnessing its’ own activity, the brain enhances in awareness of internal states which promotes self regulation leading to better physical and mental performance. Self-regulation is a necessary part of good brain function and allows the central nervous system to function better.
