A PhD in psychology signifies expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of emotional and mental disorders based on advanced knowledge of human development, the causation and treatment of psychopathology, psychotherapeutic treatment practices, ability to conduct psychological assessments and the advanced knowledge of research in psychology including the ongoing application of research to ongoing practice.
