My Approach to Helping
Are you tired of having anxious thoughts and worrying and often feeling anxious, fearful, and uncertain about yourself and the future? For some of you, depression takes a lot out of you. Feeling down, irritable, unmotivated, tired, and pessimistic is exhausting. I know exactly what you feel because I've been there myself and through my education and professional training, I've learned life-changing tools that effectively improve how you think and feel.
My counseling style is supportive, encouraging, and positive. The most important factor in the success of therapy is the relationship you and I have and it's essential for me to build trust and connection with you while creating a safe space for you to share and heal. One of my strongest skill set as a therapist is pulling from a combination of interventions specific to your needs. I use evidence-based strategies and techniques from ACT, CBT, and DBT according to your needs and specific situation for the best outcome and results. Another approach of mine is that I don't believe in talking about past problems over and over again. This reinforces old and unhelpful emotions instead of working on what you can change today in the here and now. That's not to say that we don't talk about past issues. We'll discuss them when it's beneficial for your healing and growth. Together, we work on current problems, develop your life toolbox so you can graduate from therapy and live the life you imagined before starting therapy with me.
