My Approach to Helping
I have worked extensively with children, young adults and their families in different settings. such as schools, residential treatment facilities, and within one's community. I've especially enjoyed working with adults suffering from a borderline personality disorder, depression, various anxiety, and eating disorders. I had the opportunity to facilitate aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) groups to provide acceptance and mindfulness strategies combined with commitment and behavior-change strategies that support an increase in the individual’s psychological flexibility. I believe that every individual has the ability within them to create a well-balanced, vibrant, and life worth living; any individual can accomplish this with the right mix of motivational resources and support system. I bring in my sense of creativity, supportive, and empathetic personality with a clear understanding of clinical practices, such as utilizing aspects of CBT and DBT, combined with holistic practices, allowing me to provide well-rounded support to individuals under her care.
