My Approach to Helping
You care for the young, old, sick, and vulnerable, and know you need to take better care of yourself. So when you feel compassion turning to anger and resentment, chronic stress turning into anxiety and depression, it's time to ask for the support you need. I am a professional counselor who is passionate about helping people find relief from depression and anxiety and find more sustainable ways to meet their personal and professional caretaking responsibilities.
I have extensive education and experience in preparing people for caregiving roles in ministry and medicine, and have served in such roles myself. I have a doctorate in religion and background in pastoral care and healthcare ethics that enables me to meet the whole person - who brings not only mental health concerns, but ethical and spiritual ones as well.
Family caregivers, healthcare professionals, pastors and ministers, social workers, activists, teachers… The work you do is vital. We need you to keep doing it. But it’s time to find ways to care for others without causing harm to yourself. Together we can find a more sustainable way for you to continue this important work.
