My Approach to Helping
I believe in change, and that people can change for the better. Most clients that I help want something to change. They want to feel better, to live more fully, to forgive, to have a better marriage, and to change their habits. Change happens when you are able to express your worry, pain, hopes, and fears, and be fully and accurately heard. Being able to talk about your feelings and goals is the first step.
The empowerment that comes from being heard, and the support for a plan that creates the change you are hoping for is what I offer clients. A major factor in the relationship with your therapist is trust. Trust is based on confidentiality and a "good fit" with the personality and philosophy of the therapist. I seek to create a caring and safe space where you discover your current strengths, and develop new ways of thinking and behaving that bring you greater peace and satisfaction in your life.
