My Approach to Helping

As a solution-focused therapist, I believe that a client walks in with the answers to their questions and we are a team walking on the path to discover those very answers and working together, we can get a better understanding to resolve challenges the client and their family is currently facing. My therapy is often client directed, allowing them time and space to move through their individual story, remember their strengths and pull on their inner and outer resources for support and comfort. I believe therapy is important in all stages of life as guidance through troubled times whether individually, as a couple, parent or family. Therapy helps build much needed skills in self reflection, personal responsibility, interpersonal communication, emotional regulation and expression, while assisting in creating realistic, attainable goals for a healthy lifestyle.

More Info About My Practice

I provide face to face therapy in my office downtown three afternoon/evenings a week. I also provide an online option utilizing a HIPAA compliant platform to be more flexible around busy schedules. I believe that it is important to seek assistance and want to work with you to get your needs met.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Connect with me via email, a call or a free consultation. Let's discuss what your needs might be and see if we would be a good match. Interviewing a therapist to see if you are a good fit is just good self care. Let me see how I can assist you in reaching your goals in therapy.

The Duration and Frequency of Therapy

I am a solution focused brief family therapist. After the initial meeting, a discussion of the issue at hand and needs of the client, I typically recommend a minimum of 6 sessions, no more than 2 weeks apart, for 55 minutes. This will get the client focused on the issue presented, set a clear goal, work on what develops in session and be able to form new patterns of behaviors to begin to see some change, even if very small. At the 6 session mark, as a collaborative team, progress is assessed and sessions scheduled as needed.
