My Approach to Helping
It’s not uncommon for women to experience anxiety or depression after giving birth; up to 20% of new mothers will struggle with a perinatal mood and anxiety disorder. Since 2005, I’ve specialized in helping women recover from depression and anxiety during the postpartum period, and was trained by Postpartum Support International.
In 2017, I helped develop Hoag Hospital’s Maternal Mental Health Program and was trained by the Beck Institute for the Treatment of Anxiety Disorders in 2018. I utilize an eclectic approach with clients, which may include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Techniques for stress reduction, and Solution-Focused techniques.
As I have been working as a psychotherapist for over 20 years, I have extensive experience working with individuals who may be experiencing difficult life transitions, and as a result, may be experiencing low mood or anxiety. My approach also centers on the importance of client feedback, as recent research has shown that feedback-informed treatment provides for the best therapy outcomes.
If you are ready to take the next step, I’ll look forward to hearing from you.
