My Approach to Helping
Hello there! I identify as white, queer, non-binary, and able-bodied. I believe that it is crucial to approach therapeutic work from a lens in which my privilege is acknowledged, the client’s social locations are celebrated, and the intersections of our identities are able to be openly discussed. My biggest values within the therapeutic context include bodily autonomy, boundaries, consent, reclamation, spaciousness, and relational healing. I recognize and acknowledge I still have much left to learn as a student – and I am excited to continue expanding my knowledge and therapeutic tools.
I am particularly interested in working with sexual pain, sexual dysfunction, out of control sexual behavior, and sexual shame. I am also very interested in working with the intersection of sexuality and religious trauma, the intersection of dysphoria and sexuality, and the exploration of identity within sexuality.
I am kink, BDSM, and polyamory affirming. I am also available to write letters for gender-affirming care. In addition to these topics, I am interested in working with post traumatic stress and developmental trauma. I believe that it is crucial to "move at the speed of trust" and build rapport to create a sense of safety within the therapeutic container.
