My Approach to Helping

I have over 10 years of experience in NYC outpatient clinics working with children, families, and adults. I trained extensively at the Ackerman Institute for the Family and received intensive supervision during my work with complex couples and families. I am a pragmatic therapist with a solution-focused bent, and I use warmth, humor and transparency in my approach. I believe in goal- oriented work that helps you to feel more connected to those most important in your life.

Groups I Work With

In my work with children and families, while I do work individually with children and teens as needed, I believe that strengthening a relationship between a child and a parent is often the most profound path to change. I have considerable experience working with parents of children with a variety of issues, including neurological disorders like Autism Spectrum Disorders and ADHD, behavioral problems, anxiety and depression, and reactions to trauma, grief and loss, foster careadoption, and divorce.
I work with adults struggling with relationship issues, anxiety, and depression, often with young professionals struggling with the stress of life in the city. I tend to approach both my work with individuals and families from a family systems perspective, with a belief that understanding the lessons we learned in our family of origin can help us to understand our relational patterns in adulthood. I am a pragmatic therapist with a solution-focused bent, and I use warmth, humor and transparency in my approach.
