My Approach to Helping
Has it been a while since you've felt consistently happy? Do you feel like your life has gotten off track? Do you want to start fresh but don't know where to begin? Life is an ongoing series of decisions, transitions, relationships, and experiences and sometimes the challenges they pose can outweigh the joys they bring. If you are experiencing a disproportionate amount of stress, anxiety, uncertainty, fear, indecision or depression as a result of your relationships, career path, eating habits, parenting style or self-esteem, I can help. I will work with you to understand the root of these feelings and get you back on a path where you feel secure, confident, capable and happy.
Working together, we will explore your individual process of thinking and behaving. We will identify maladaptive patterns and work to create new habits. We will develop and practice coping strategies that work for you to utilize during difficult situations. You will gain greater self-awareness, which will put you in control of your life and your future.
As an individual, this will mean increased pleasure and stability. As a partner, it will mean being able to tolerate change, engage in compromise and demonstrate flexibility. As a parent-caregiver, it will mean being emotionally available to those around you, modeling positive strategies for big emotions and having the energy and patience you need to support others.
As a provider, I view therapy as a dedicated safe place to focus on yourself and learn how to live your best life. Make learning how to generate happiness and navigate hardship a priority because these skills are critical to being your best self.
