My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor. The New York State Office of Professions and State Department of Education licenses me to provide mental health counseling services. I have a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling and Psychology. I am also a member of the Mental Health Counseling Association. I provide a vast array of different techniques into the therapeutic process pending on each client’s unique needs. I encourage clients to evaluate, make changes and develop functional skills that will promote health and growth along with the realization that self-actualization is a continual process.
The primary focus of therapeutic services is to provide a conducive, safe, confidential first that ensures personal growth and enables the individual to regain functional capabilities. In order to regain functionality and growth the individuals in a therapeutic setting may have to discuss pleasant, unpleasant aspects of their lives and may experience uncomfortable feelings such as anxiety, fear, shame, guilt, hatred, anger, loneliness, frustration and helplessness. However, through counseling, clients may learn how to appreciate themselves, make better decisions and become more open about themselves and the world they live in.
The clinical process and experience may vary due to case by case basis and their uniqueness and individuality and there is no guarantee of what you may experience.
