More Info About My Practice

I have worked with various traumas throughout my career. I help people reduce emotional charge by utilizing techniques from the school of Traumatic Incident Reduction.

My expertise is in grief counseling. I work collaboratively with people of all ages and meet them where they are at as opposed to forcing my views on them. I create a supportive environment in which the people I work with feel comfortable in sharing their most private information about themselves.

On the Fence About Going to Therapy?

Making the first step to seek help takes a lot of courage. Congratulations! You have gotten through the initial hump. Perhaps you have looked through multiple counselors' profiles and are still contemplating whether to go for it or not? Do I really need help? Perhaps you tell yourself that you can work through it on your own.

Most people who followed through with seeking help and talked to a therapist/counselor will agree with the following statement - It feels good to tell someone who is not your friend, not related to you and won't share what you are going through with the rest of the world. It feels good to sort through your thoughts and emotions with a neutral party in confidence. So if you are still on the fence; I encourage you to try it, see what it's all about; see if therapy is for you or not. Don't let yourself wonder about the 'what ifs'. See for yourself. Schedule your first session.

How My Own Struggles Made Me a Better Therapist

Since I have experienced what it takes to try to endlessly encourage an addicted person to get help, and the addiction became stronger than the person I once knew, I understand addiction on a personal level.

My goal is to help families of addicts understand addiction and support them through their loved ones' recovery efforts. Addiction and infidelities can, in many cases, tear families apart. Going through a divorce can be a very frightening process. The fear causes anxiety, depression and can make a person paralyzed - seemingly unable to make complex decisions. In the therapy process, you can learn to sort through your fears and anxieties regarding completing a divorce. Lastly, since children are often the innocent bystanders when two people who they love very much are having to move into separate homes, interact with their parents' new mates; have to change schools; get used to timesharing, step-siblings, blended families. I have been there. I can help guide you and your family through your life transitions.
