My Approach to Helping
It takes courage to start working with a new therapist. The very fact that you’re considering it probably means you’re getting ready to make some significant changes in your life. My approach to therapy focuses on understanding and accepting you as you are right now, and creating a safe space where you can figure out where you want to go from here. We’ll also work together as you get ready to make the sometimes tough (and rewarding) changes that will give you a better life. Often that includes communicating more effectively with others who are important to you—including your partner, children, friends, and colleagues at work.
We'll meet in a traditional therapy office, and when it's helpful, we'll also explore ways you can experience a greater sense of serenity and fulfillment by spending a little time in nature—right in your own neighborhood. It can be hard to make time in your hectic life to do this, and I can offer suggestions that are designed for busy urban environments.
