My Approach to Helping
With over 30 year of experience helping individuals and couples, my approach begins with building an atmosphere in which people feel safe, accepted and understood. In that context, people are helped to more fully understand and accept themselves. They are guided to heal the feelings, thoughts and behaviors, that cause them distress, either internally or in relationship with others, and find their joy and passion. Each individual and couple are unique and being allowed to be involved in their growth continually energizes me.

How Psychotherapy Can Help
Psychotherapy is very helpful in answering the questions, "Why did I do, say, think or feel that and how can I do, say, think or feel differently?". In a process that is gentle, respectful and honoring, people can find in themselves what they need to heal. Psychotherapy helps uncover and expand that. Therapy is a collaborative process between the therapist, who uses their knowledge and expertise, to facilitate self awareness and healing.
What I Love about Being a Psychotherapist
What I love is watching people come to value their uniqueness and realize that they are not alone in their struggles. Being allowed to be witness to people's emotional lives feels like an enormous honor and continually fills me. I can't see a better way to spend my life's work that to be part of that process.
