I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist working with clients in the northern Seattle area. I incorporate elements of many traditions to create a support system that fits you. Whether you are an individual working through personal growth, loss, depression, self-esteem struggles, anxiety or life changes, or a couple feeling stuck or growing apart or wanting to tune up a healthy relationship, or a couple interested in pre-marital counseling, I draw on your own strengths, and help you learn new methods and tools to make the changes you long for. In therapy, we'll use humor, creativity, and just the right amount of challenge to help you discover and use strengths you might not even know you have. I offer an accepting, motivating and compassionately challenging environment for you to take the next step on your journey. If you're ready to take the next step, schedule an appointment for a complimentary consultation.
I look forward to working with you!

More Info About My Practice

I draw from many traditions and techniques to tailor therapy to your specific needs. Some of the tools I employ are mindfulness and meditation, self-care as a support for progress in therapy, teaching you to identify and untangle self-critical and limiting thought processes, giving you tools and techniques for managing intense feelings and flooding, elements of yoga such as helpful breathing techniques and many more options to help you reach your therapeutic goals.

Had a Negative Therapy Experience?

From time to time new clients come to me with concerns or stories of past therapy that was unhelpful or occasionally even unprofessional. Hearing about these experiences helps me to understand what didn't work for you, and to give you a positive and helpful experience going forward.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

While many factors contribute to the degree of success of a therapy experience, the alliance formed between client and therapist is arguably the most important one. This partnership creates a safe and trusting environment that supports positive change, healing and growth. My goal is to build such a partnership with you, so you are free to explore your areas of concern with compassion, respect and acceptance.
