My Approach to Helping
In the 25 years I've worked as a therapist, I've learned that we all can create a life that balances love, work, and play. When life's challenges interfere with this balance, therapy can help you heal and grow. My gentle, calm demeanor and my sense of humor help my clients to safely explore their challenges and arrive at new solutions. The ability to relax into laughter can help you make powerful shifts in your life.
I've helped many couples repair troubled relationships, heal pain, move past resentment, and establish strong communication. Couples frequently experience a sense of safety and relief, as well as a softening of negative emotions, as they work together to surmount their challenges.
I've worked with numerous individuals on a wide variety of issues. Some of my clients feel anxious or distraught, while others appear successful but struggle with silent emotional challenges. My dynamic, interactive approach works to help my clients overcome anxiety, anger, cutting, troubled relationships, emptiness, depression, and new life challenges.
My dynamic approach means that I examine the structure of your thoughts, feelings, and memories. My approach is interactive because I listen and talk to your healthy inner self ? the person behind the undermining feelings, behaviors, and patterns. My dynamic-interactive style helps us develop a trusting and safe relationships that can help you heal.
My experience has taught me that clients get the most out of therapy when they have a positive relationship with their therapist. Regardless of the type of therapy or the therapist's modality, your sense of safety and trust are the foundations upon which change is built. This is so important that I offer a free initial session if we find that I'm not the right therapist for you.
