My Approach to Helping
My passion is to help people live their life more fully. I start with a person's strengths and help a person develop tools to manage their emotions, traumas andor mental illness. My work integrates many different therapeutic styles and techniques depending on what fits best with the client and their situation. Some of these include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Family Therapy, EMDR and EFT Tapping. I run DBT groups to teach people skills with mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness skills and distress tolerance skills. These skills help people with their self-esteem, substance dependence, behavioral difficulties, divorce or separation, bereavement and difficulties in family communication. I believe everyone can heal because of my personal experiences and healing process.
