My Approach to Helping
My passion is to help people live their life more fully. I start with a person's strengths and help a person develop tools to manage their emotions, traumas and/or mental illness. My work integrates many different therapeutic styles and techniques depending on what fits best with the client and their situation. Some of these include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Family Therapy, EMDR and EFT Tapping. I run DBT groups to teach people skills with mindfulness, emotional regulation, interpersonal effectiveness skills and distress tolerance skills. These skills help people with their self-esteem, substance dependence, behavioral difficulties, divorce or separation, bereavement and difficulties in family communication. I believe everyone can heal because of my personal experiences and healing process.
