My Approach to Helping

I view therapy as a collaborative relationship based on trust, accountability, and mutually-developed goals. I can guide you in finding your own way toward wholeness and healing placing the focus on your personal strengths and a desire to reach your highest potential.

I offer individual and couples therapy to adults and adolescents. I use a holistic or body-mind-spirit approach and tailor each treatment method according to individual needs, combining multiple psychotherapeutic, mindfulness based and psychosomatic modalities.

I also integrate my unique specialty as a Certified MARI (Mandala Assessment Research Instrument) Practitioner to offer a comprehensive view of a person\'s needs and ways to solve problems.

No matter what issues you choose to work on, I will offer you a safe, non-judgmental, and nurturing environment and guide you to find your own way of healing.

Why Going to Therapy Does Not Mean You are Weak or Flawed

One of the main stopping points that people often site in choosing or not to go into therapy is their view of themselves as weak or damaged in some way. A decision to enter a therapy process is a very personal and soul-searching experience. I do not ever push clients to start therapy if they don't feel ready, but I do encourage them to consider if some possible intrapersonal resolutions and behavior change can offer them an alleviation of their symptoms and suffering.

I do also encourage to remove the label of mental illness and view their concerns from the point of experiencing certain symptoms or having a diagnosed condition, the same way we view a medical illness and seek help to assist them in achieving better overall functioning.

A decision to enter therapy does not mean you're weak, it actually means you have a strong spirit and chose to honor your own wellbeing and seek help.

Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance

Client-therapist relationship is a paramount factor in predicting how successful a particular therapeutic process will be. The latest research sites that it's not the actual technique or theory used that make or break a satisfaction rate in any therapy process, but it is a good working alliance between a client and a therapist that bring on a necessary shift in both the client's cognition and behavior change that lead to a successful ending.

A good working client-therapist relationship is based on trust, ethical standards, understanding and setting agreed-on goals that are followed through from both sides, a client and a therapist. Both parties need to fully invest into a therapeutic relationship in order to see results - a successful intrapersonal resolution and better functioning for a client and a satisfaction and further professional growth for a therapist.
