My Approach to Helping
You deserve a relationship that builds you up, not one that tears you down. A good relationship can be the best thing in your life, and a bad one can be the worst. That’s why I want to help you build stronger and more fulfilling relationships.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have specialized training and education in relationships. Most therapists don’t. My therapeutic approach is built on the fact that no one exists in isolation. Our families, our friends, our colleagues, and our romantic partners are all part of who we are, where we came from, and where we’re going. That’s why I’m so passionate about working with you on your relationships.
I work with both individuals and couples, focusing on those in their 20s and 30s. We face unique challenges in this phase of life. We spend our teens and early twenties seeking independence, so the process of coupling or forming a new family can be disorienting and destabilizing. Learning the psychological tools to adjust to that transition now will pay lifelong dividends.
More Info About My Practice
As a therapist, I rely on evidence-based approaches like Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Everyone is unique, so I will tailor my approach to you, either as an individual or as part of a couple.
Importance of the Client-Therapist Alliance
One of the most important elements of therapy is the therapist-client fit, not every therapeutic relationship works. You might already know that from your own therapy experiences. I find that I get the best results with students and professionals in their late teens, 20s, and 30s. Much of my work is with couples in this age range, but I also work with individuals. I'll meet you where you are and help you with whatever you're facing.
So if you think we could work well together, email me or give me a call.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
Therapy works best when we are goal-oriented and have a clear direction. We will focus on your concerns and on developing effective strategies for you from the very start. Therapy shouldn't take forever. My clients make significant progress on their therapy goals quickly, and most are ready to graduate therapy within 8 to 15 sessions.
