My Approach to Helping

I see all people as striving to lead the best life possible, and to cultivate deep and meaningful relationships often in the face of unexpected obstacles. And so I believe that every person can benefit from the support of therapy and counseling as they face the challenges of life. As we work together, we will create a space for you to explore your concerns, and make meaning of your life in ways that liberate you to achieve your dreams. We will also examine the ways in which power operates in your life and external systems have informed your life.

More Info About My Practice

The frequency of our meetings and length of therapy varies by individual and is determined by what you would like to get out of the experience. My fee is $150/hour. A limited number of sliding scale openings are available. I do not accept insurance but I am happy to provide receipts for insurance reimbursement. My private and comfortable office is easily accessible by public transportation. Street parking is readily available and there is a municipal parking lot close by.

Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With

I am passionate about working with couples, individuals, and families to create and nurture the lives and relationships that they desire. I specialize in helping all couples prepare for marriage, supporting people as they come out or into an LGBTQ identity, and supporting LGBTQ people as they couple and grow and nurture their families. I also enjoy working with emerging professionals of color, and women as they develop their careers.

How Psychotherapy Can Help

The psychotherapy, counseling, talking space is a place where you say what is on your mind, what you are feeling or struggling with, and be heard, accepted, and validated. You may also be gently encouraged to challenge your thinking, try on new ways of being or doing, or to take a leap in order to be the person you desire to be in the world and have the relationships for which you may be longing.
