My Approach to Helping
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 20+ years of experience working with parents and their children. I have extensive training in performing Autism, Attachment, Developmental, and Diagnostic Assessments, as well as in conducting relationship-based therapies. I routinely see children and families to address adoption issues; attachment; developmental trauma; anxiety; depression; parent-child relationship struggles, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral regulation difficulties; and social skills delays.
When you visit my office, expect to be treated with respect and dignity, state of the art services, confidentiality, personalized care, and timely feedback. I welcome meeting you and your family and invite you to contact me by telephone or by secure email to schedule a free telephone consultation to help navigate the process. You are not alone.
More Info About My Practice
As a mother of boy-girl twins, one of whom was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 9; both of whom have have learning challenges within traditional educational settings, I am keenly aware of the importance of early diagnosis. Not wanting other children to miss early critical windows of treatment, I developed a specialty in conducting Developmental, Autism, Attachment, and ADHD assessments. To inform clinical practice, I have published research on processes that promote resilience in children and families, and have taught physicians, medical students, psychologists, counselors, and social workers on child development, neurodevelopmental disorders, positive adaptation, parenting, and children's mental health. To give back to the community, I also serve on multiple national committees including Autism Speaks' Parenting Workgroup, and the National Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine's Parenting Collaborative.
