I believe it is important to have a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients. I have found it to be helpful to try to understand each person's experience and their perspective of their situation. I believe in the importance of focusing on strengths and positives in the clients I work with. I prefer to use a Cognitive Behavioral approach, however, I also frequently use a Family Systems approach, and lastly a Solution Focused Therapy approach. When I work with children, I will frequently utilize play therapy, depending upon the age of the child.

More Info About My Practice

I have found that it is helpful to have a collaborative relationship between myself and my clients so that the identification of treatment goals, and the steps to achieve those goals, are meaningful to the client and areas we both believe are important.

An area of treatment, which I believe is unique to my practice, is providing services to family members of individuals struggling with a substance use disorder. Family members include grandparents, parents, siblings, children, etc.
