More Info About My Practice

I work with individual adults who are desiring growth and change in some aspect of their lives - self-esteem, personal fulfillment, relationships, education/career.

My Role as a Therapist

My role is to help you with the goals that you wish to work on. I will help you identify areas of personal strengths and improve positive coping skills to deal with daily stressors and major life issues. I can provide an unbiased perspective to help with problem solving, and do so in an emotionally safe, confidential and therapeutic environment.

What I Say to People Concerned about the Therapy Process

Therapy is different than talking to a well-intentioned friend or family member. Therapy is confidential. Therapy is undertaken with a highly trained professional that has undergone years of advanced education and supervised trainings. Your therapist does not have a personal stake in your situation, other than to see you feeling better about yourself and feeling more hopeful about your situation and your personal future. It is important that you feel there is a "good fit" with your therapist. You will do your best work with someone who you feel comfortable with. Working with a therapist does not mean that your are "weak". Everyone needs assistance from others from time to time.
