My Approach to Helping

Dr. Debbie Swayman is known for her non-judgmental, caring, and solution-oriented approach to therapy, which clients report help them feel safe to explore their problems, find solutions, and move forward in a positive way. She works with individuals, couples and families, with a specialization in divorce and blended family adjustments. Her other areas of interest and expertise include adolescent and teen issues, couples counseling, grief and loss, as well as families facing the challenges of chronic illness.

Debbie is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She holds a Masters Degree and Doctorate Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. In addition, she has been on the adjunct faculty in the Marriage and Family Therapy Program at Nova Southeastern University, as well as a clinical member and approved supervisor for the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.

Dr. Swayman is co-director of Family Therapy Associates, a private practice in the Coral Springs/Parkland area. Her gpal is to provide a confidential, caring and non-judgmental environment in which you can find new ways to explore relationships, improve communication, and resolve family conflicts. Her objective is to help you develop and identify individual and family strengths and find positive solutions that "fit" for you and your family.
