My Approach to Helping
I value a client-centered approach, following one's individual needs and goals. I believe therapy is a creative exchange which works best in a relaxed and relational environment. I find my work most meaningful when I'm able to learn about a person's values and support them in making aligned, pragmatic changes. I also love helping people grow through life transitions/change and to overcome experiences of anxiety, depression, and trauma. As a movement therapist, I particularly value supporting a person to notice changes in his/her body, breath, and physical movement, that might support them in becoming a healthier, more whole individual.

How Psychotherapy Can Help
I believe psychotherapy is most successful when the individual experiences empathy and understanding in a non-judgmental environment. As a person talks about current difficulties and related emotions, they become increasingly aware of areas of possible change, learn skills to better manage symptoms, and begin to feel empowered to better cope with a variety of life's difficulties.
