More Info About My Practice
I provide you with a "super bill" that you can submit to your insurance company for out of network benefits. The individuals I work with do not want a diagnosis submitted to their insurance company. Due to sensitive nature of the issues I deal with opting out of insurance panels provides you with greater confidentiality.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Helping people recover from sexual addiction and pornography addiction. I am a Certified Sexual Addiction Therapist.
How Psychotherapy Can Help
Living with a porn addiction can be a shameful and isolating experience that can have a severe physical and emotional impact on your life and relationships. Common emotional consequences of porn addiction include betraying your loved ones, divorce or separation from your family, financial loss and devastation and severe humiliation. Even if you feel like you?re being as careful as possible, you are likely distracted and distant from those you love, making it difficult to stay connected or foster intimate relationships. You may have tried to stop looking at porn in the past, but the excitement and anticipation of sexual release is too overwhelming, and you feel out of control.
If you are ready to take back control of your life, or if you have more questions about porn addiction treatment or my practice in Rocky River, I encourage you to contact me.
What Makes up a Problem?
Not sure whether or not you have a sexual addiction? PATHOS is a brief questionnaire:
P: PREOCCUPIED - Are you preoccupied by sexual thoughts?
A: ASHAMED - Do you feel ashamed of some of your sexual behavior, or do you hide it from others?
T: TREATMENT - Have you sought help for problematic sexual behavior?
H: HURT OTHERS - Has your sexual behavior harmed anyone else?
O: OUT OF CONTROL - Do you feel like your sexual behavior controls your life?
S: SAD - Does sex lead you to feel sad?
If you answer yes to three or more questions, you may have a sexual addiction. Many sex addicts are unwilling to disclose their addictions, even to a therapist, until a spouse or partner catches them. The consequence of such discoveries can be devastating to the individual, his or her relationships, and the larger community.
Please contact me and I will send you information on a longer sex addiction screening instrument.
