My Approach to Helping

My passion is supporting parents! If you're exhausted from your child's tantrums and embarrassed by their meltdowns in stores, I understand because I've been there myself. If your child refuses to follow directions, screams, kicks, hits, or throws things, I can help you using Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT).

PCIT is backed by 100's of studies and 40 years of research. And I can tell you how these techniques worked wonders for my own family. We can work together to transform your child's behaviors & bring peace and joy back to your everyday interactions with your child again. All family constellations are welcome. Foster & adoptive families are especially welcome!

Developed through UC Davis Children's Hospital, PCIT can radically transform disruptive behaviors in children ages 1-10 with behaviors from oppositional defiance, ADHD, anxiety, mood dysregulation, trauma, grief from relative death, adjustment to divorce, mild autism, and mild intellectual disability. PCIT is even helpful for kids who just have strong willed personalities.

Let's chat and see if we are a match for working together with PCIT to bring peace an warmth back to your home!

More Info About My Practice

I also provide Parent Support Workshops (see below) that are fun, interactive, and taught in an atmosphere of mutual support of other parents who understand the ups and downs of parenting strong willed children.

Groups I Work With

I provide Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for children ages 1-10 who have behavioral challenges that have not responded to traditional parenting. If you have tried everything, give me a call and we can see if PCIT is right for your family.

Developed through UC Davis Children's Hospital, PCIT is the gold standard in treating child disruptive behaviors that can arise for a number of reasons including strong child personalities, ADHD, anxiety, speech delay, moving homes, grief from loss of a relative, birthing trauma, sensory processing difficulties, or adjustment to foster care or adoption. It is even helpful with children with mild autism or mild intellectual disability.

And the most recent studies have show that PCIT is even more effective than STIMULANT MEDICATION for treating disruptive behaviors like those arising from ADHD. (see the info-graphic in pictures for citation).

Strong willed children can grow up to be resilient and successful, but their younger years can be taxing on parents when they are young. But PCIT can transform a child's misbehaviors into strengths that will serve them a lifetime IN AS LITTLE AS 14 WEEKS.

Let's work together to bring peace and warmth back to your everyday interactions with your child again!
