My Approach to Helping
My approach will be tailored to meet your needs, to help you open up and see things from a different perspective. Together, we will develop a safe and non-judgmental place for self-exploration and reflection on personal values, beliefs, and actions. We will work as a team to adapt and adjust behaviors and emotional responses that are no longer useful. We will create healthier and more thoughtful ways of living to support inner balance and promote personal growth. My areas of specialty and expertise are in working with Children, Adolescents, and Young Adults. I have extensive experience in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, severe trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, other mood disorders, family conflict, and High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder. I have provided support for clients for over 15 years in a variety of settings, including residential treatment, community-based services, intensive in-home services, school-based services as well as private practice.
I am also skilled at providing “parent coaching,” a clinical approach that provides parents, who may be struggling with their childteen, the insight, understanding, and applicable solutions to improve their relationship. Additionally, I provide couples counseling and support for couples of varied ages, race, ethnicity, and sexual orientation. Since every couple has different needs, concerns, questions, and goals, my focus is on having the couple define their vision for their relationship. I then work collaboratively with the couple on their path to discover, or re-discover, the relationship they envision.
