My Approach to Helping
I provide an individualized treatment approach for all of my clients based on why they have come to treatment. My philosophy is that most people know what is causing them discomfort and even know what needs to be accomplished to overcome their current circumstance. Most clients come to treatment to work through the fear, resistance, emotional blocks and life obstacles that prohibit them from achieving their personal goals. These goals might be life achievements, an improved mood or healthier circumstances. Whatever might be troubling you, I'd be honor to help you heal and transform your current suffering into an experience that provides you with happiness and a positive well being.
Specific Issue(s) I'm Skilled at Helping With
Although I enjoy helping many different people with a variety of issues, I've had great success assisting parents, and young people with the often normal, yet difficult situations that effect families. These issues range from divorce, family conflict, substance abuse, adjustments, ADHD, learning disabilities, etc.
The Duration and Frequency of Therapy
Typically weekly sessions are recommended for the first several sessions so we can get to know each other, and build trust and rapport. Together we develop a treatment plan with your personal goals as the guiding focus and track your progress regularly. When your goals are achieved, you have the option to create new goals or to discontinue treatment. The length of treatment often last anywhere from 2 sessions to 1 year depending on the nature of the problem and how often sessions are held. Therapy is a very personalized experience.
Clients are always able to decide at anytime if they would like to discontinue treatment, decrease or increase sessions and or return at a later time for "check ins" or "as needed".
