My Approach to Helping
Finding the right time to start therapy can be difficult. Finding the right therapist can be an even bigger challenge. If you are here, it means you’ve taken the first step. The hardest step. Whether you are finally addressing concerns you’ve had for a while, or you’ve experienced a significant change in your life, you deserve to have a teammate to support you. I believe in kindness and genuine connection as a path to growth. I use a collaborative approach, where you will find empathy, acceptance, and curiosity from me in a therapeutic relationship. We are teammates in your journey.
I utilize evidence-based treatment modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I am able to help you as you move through life’s struggles, such as anxiety, depression, adjustment, relationship problems, grief, insomnia, perfectionism, self-esteem, and trauma. I also love to bring in Psychodynamic approaches to help inform patterns in relationships and experiences from early life.
Outside of the therapy room, I recharge my battery by engaging in activities I enjoy. I love to read, volunteer my time with animals, and work on furniture/house projects. My own animals are also a huge part of my life. I have two pups you might have the opportunity to hear or see during a telehealth session. My older girl is a Golden RetrieverAustralian Shepherd mix- her name is Dwight. My younger girl is a total mutt but mostly a BoxerShar PeiGerman Shepherd- her name is Beasley. My favorite show is The Office, of course.
